Explanation

あまりにも emphasizes that the degree is beyond what is expected, often with surprise or dissatisfaction.

Usage

It can modify adjectives, verbs, or a whole clause, and emphasizes degree more directly than あまり.

Example

説明があまりにも早くて、半分しか理解できなかった。

The explanation was so fast that I could only understand half of it.

Common Mistake

Do not use it as plain とても; it often means the degree is excessive.
