Explanation

いよいよ means something long-awaited is finally about to happen, or a degree is increasing further.

Usage

Use context to decide whether it means “finally” or “increasingly.”

Example

いよいよ明日から新しいプロジェクトが始まります。

The new project finally starts tomorrow.

Common Mistake

Do not memorize only “finally”; it can also mean intensification.

Memory Tip

When waiting reaches the final stage: いよいよ.
