When an i-adjective changes to く, it can modify a verb like an adverb.

For example, 早い becomes 早く, and 大きい becomes 大きく.

明日は早く起きます。

I will get up early tomorrow.

Do not say 早い起きます; use 早く to modify a verb.

Change い to く so the adjective can modify an action.
