JLPT N1 Grammar

うちに入らない

N1不足

N1 · 不足 · noun + の + うちに入らない / verbplain form + うちに入らない

Meaning

does not count as; is not enough to be called

Structure

noun + の + うちに入らない / verbplain form + うちに入らない

Explanation

Shows that something is too low in degree to count as the first category or condition.

Usage

Often evaluates insufficient quantity, level, difficulty, or experience.

Example

この程度のミスは、失敗のうちに入らない。すぐ直せば大丈夫だ。

A mistake of this level does not count as a failure. It is fine if we fix it quickly.

Common Mistake

Do not confuse it with physically entering inside; here it means whether something counts as a category.

Memory Tip

The degree is not high enough, so it cannot be counted in.
