Structure

dictionary-form verb/ている + うちに

Explanation

うちに means doing something while a state still lasts, or a change happening during that period.

Usage

Common phrases include 忘れないうちに and 若いうちに.

Example

忘れないうちに、メモしておきます。

I will write it down before I forget.

Common Mistake

うちに has a 'while it is still...' feeling, not just ordinary 'during.'
