Adds another point in the same direction on top of the previous one, often conversational.

The two clauses are usually both positive or both negative.

今日は電車が遅れた。おまけに、雨まで降ってきた。

The train was delayed today. On top of that, it started raining.

Do not connect evaluations in opposite directions; it is most natural for same-direction addition.

One thing is already there, and another is added on top.
