およそ + 数量 / およそ + 否定

Can show approximate quantity or range, and with a negative can mean not at all or utterly not.

At N1, the written use with negatives is common, such as およそ考えられない.

この短期間で全データを手作業で確認するのは、およそ現実的ではない。

Manually checking all data in such a short time is utterly unrealistic.

When followed by a negative, do not translate it as 'approximately not'; understand it as 'not at all.'

In affirmative sentences it is approximate; with negatives it becomes total denial.
