Structure

普通体 + かな

Explanation

かな expresses wondering or uncertainty, often to oneself. It is softer than asking the listener directly.

Usage

It usually follows plain forms. In formal situations, でしょうか is more polite.

Example

明日は雨かな。

I wonder if it will rain tomorrow.

Common Mistake

Do not use かな for formal questions that demand a direct answer.

Memory Tip

Read かな as 'I wonder whether...'
