Structure

noun + がする

Explanation

がする follows nouns for sound, smell, taste, or feeling and expresses sensing them.

Usage

Often follows nouns for sounds, smells, tastes, or feelings.

Example

台所からいいにおいがします。

A nice smell is coming from the kitchen.

Common Mistake

Use 見える for seeing and 聞こえる for hearing; がする often takes sensory nouns.

Sensory noun + がする.
