It is often used in objective explanation.

この地域は桜が多いことから、「桜町」と呼ばれている。

Because this area has many cherry trees, it is called “Sakura Town.”

Do not confuse it with temporal てから; this explains a reason based on a fact.

A fact leads to a reason or name.
