Structure

ことごとく + verb

Explanation

ことごとく means all relevant items are so, without exception, and is strong and written.

Usage

It is often used with total success, failure, destruction, or denial.

Example

提出した案はことごとく却下された。

Every proposal submitted was rejected.

Common Mistake

Do not use it as casual “all”; 全部 is enough in everyday speech.
