せいで means because of someone or something, with a bad result.

It carries blame or negative evaluation, so be careful with the tone.

大雨のせいで、電車が止まりました。

Because of the heavy rain, the train stopped running.

Do not use せいで for good results; use おかげで.

せい often feels like 'because of/blame.'
