Structure

そうすると + 句子

Explanation

Connects to the previous situation and introduces a result, inference, or next step.

Usage

Can be used for causal reasoning or organizing the next step in conversation.

Example

駅まで歩くと二十分かかります。そうすると、今すぐ出たほうがいいですね。

It takes twenty minutes to walk to the station. Then we should leave right now.

Common Mistake

Do not use it for an unrelated topic shift; it needs a prior condition.
