Meaning

even if; even though

Structure

ta-form verb / i-adjectiveくたって / noun・na-adjectiveだって

Explanation

A conversational form of ても / でも that expresses concession.

Usage

Common in speech and more casual than written forms.

Example

今から急いだって、電車には間に合わないだろう。

Even if we hurry now, we probably will not make the train.

Common Mistake

Avoid overusing it in formal writing; ても / でも is safer in formal contexts.
