Shows that if the first state continues, an undesirable result will occur.

The following clause is often a negative judgment, warning, or impossibility.

そんなに迷っていては、申し込みの期限に間に合わない。

If you keep hesitating like that, you will miss the application deadline.

Do not use it for positive results; it usually means continuing this way is bad.

If it continues like this, there will be a problem.
