te-form verb + くださる

Explanation

てくださる is the honorific form of てくれる, respectfully saying someone does something for the speaker's side.

Usage

The polite form is often くださいます; the past is くださいました.

Example

先生が試験の範囲を教えてくださいました。

The teacher kindly told us the exam scope.

Common Mistake

ください can be a request, but てくださる describes someone kindly doing something for us.
