Structure

te-form verb / i-adjectiveくて / na-adjectiveで + たまらない

Explanation

Shows that a feeling, sensation, or desire is so strong that it is hard to bear.

Usage

Stronger than ordinary とても and emphasizes intense physical or emotional feeling.

Example

発表の前は緊張してたまらなかった。

Before the presentation, I was unbearably nervous.

Common Mistake

Do not use it for objective qualities; it usually expresses the speaker's intense feeling.
