Shows taking an action because something must not happen or because a rule must not be broken.

The following clause is often a warning, preventive measure, or preparation.

資料をなくしてはいけないから、コピーを取っておきました。

I made a copy in advance because I must not lose the materials.

Do not confuse it with the simple prohibition てはいけない; から adds the reason.

It must not happen, so you prevent it first.
