Structure

te-form verb + もいい

Explanation

てもいい means doing something is allowed, and can ask for permission.

Usage

A more polite permission request is てもよろしいですか.

Example

この部屋で電話してもいいですか。

May I make a phone call in this room?

Common Mistake

Use the て-form before もいい; do not attach it directly to the dictionary form.
