te-form verb + もらう

てもらう means having someone do something for you or receiving help through their action.

The helper is often marked with に; the subject is usually the receiver of help.

先輩に作文を見てもらいました。

I had a senior look over my composition.

Do not make the helper the viewpoint subject of もらう; the viewpoint is on the receiver.

もらう means 'I receive someone else's help.'
