ても

N5Parallel

N5 · Parallel · te-form verb + も

Meaning

even if...

Structure

te-form verb + も

Explanation

ても follows the て-form and means that even if the first condition holds, the second result still happens.

Usage

I-adjectives use くても; nouns and na-adjectives use でも.

Example

雨が降っても、試合はあります。

Even if it rains, the game will take place.

Common Mistake

Do not confuse this ても with permission てもいい; here it marks a concessive condition.

Memory Tip

て-form + も: even if that happens...
