noun/na-adjective + ではありません

ではありません is the polite negative form of です. It sounds formal and is common in explanations or writing.

じゃありません is more conversational; ではありません is safer in formal situations.

ここは入口ではありません。

This is not the entrance.

Do not attach ではありません to verbs. Use ません or ない for verb negatives.

Memorize ではありません as the polite negative block for です.
