N1 · Hearsay · noun + という + noun / 句子plain form + という

Meaning

called; said that; all

Structure

noun + という + noun / 句子plain form + という

Explanation

Can explain a name, quote hearsay, and in advanced usage can mean 'all possible...' or 'every...'.

Usage

This entry focuses on the N1 emphatic generalization, such as 店という店.

Example

台風の後、海沿いの店という店が早めにシャッターを下ろした。
