Explanation

どうしても can express a strong desire to do something, or with a negative, inability no matter what.

Usage

Judge the meaning by whether the following clause is affirmative or negative.

Example

どうしてもこの大学で日本語教育を勉強したいです。

I really want to study Japanese education at this university no matter what.

Common Mistake

Do not memorize only one meaning; it differs with affirmative and negative endings.
