なくてはならない

Explanation

なくてはならない expresses obligation in a full form: something must be done.

Usage

In speech, it often becomes なくちゃならない or simply なくちゃ.

Example

明日は六時に起きなくてはなりません。

I must get up at six tomorrow.

Common Mistake

It does not mean 'do not do'; the double negative creates 'must do.'
