なら takes up a topic or assumption and gives advice, judgment, or information under that premise.

It often responds to what someone said, like 'if it is Tokyo...'

京都へ行くなら、朝早く出たほうがいいです。

If you are going to Kyoto, you should leave early in the morning.

なら does not necessarily show time order; it emphasizes the premise/topic.

なら feels like 'if that is the case...'
