Explanation

Na-adjectives take な before nouns and often take です as predicates.

Usage

Their negative and past forms resemble noun sentences, such as 静かではありません and 静かでした.

Example

この町は静かです。

This town is quiet.

Common Mistake

Do not omit な before a noun: 静かな町.

Memory Tip

They need な before nouns, hence na-adjectives.
