にいく follows a verb stem and states the purpose of going somewhere.

Common examples include 会いに行く, 買いに行く, and 見に行く.

友だちに会いに駅へ行きます。

I am going to the station to meet a friend.

Do not use the dictionary form for the purpose action; use the verb stem.

Go somewhere to do what: stem + に行く.
