Shows that there is no need to do something, or that something is not worth such a reaction.

Often used to reassure, evaluate, or explain that a reaction is excessive.

一度断られたからといって、落ち込むには当たらない。

Just because you were rejected once, there is no need to feel down.

Do not confuse it with 当たらない meaning 'does not hit'; here it means 'there is no need.'

The reaction does not need to go that far.
