Shows that the following degree exceeds the first, often compared with the past, usual state, or previous cases.

Usage

Common in written style in phrases such as 以前にも増して and いつにも増して.

Example

This year's examinees are using online materials even more than last year's.

Common Mistake

Do not treat it as exactly the same as より; it carries a sense of surpassing a previous degree.
