ねばならない is a more written form of なければならない, meaning must.

It is common in formal speech, essays, and writing.

私たちは同じ失敗を繰り返さぬよう、原因を調べねばならない。

We must investigate the cause so that we do not repeat the same failure.

Remove ない before attaching it: 行かない becomes 行かねばならない.
