plain form + ので

ので gives a relatively objective, soft reason, followed by the resulting situation.

Use なので after nouns and na-adjectives.

電車が遅れたので、会議に遅刻しました。

Because the train was delayed, I was late for the meeting.

Do not say 便利ので; with a na-adjective, say 便利なので.

ので gives a reason in a softer explanatory tone.
