plain form + はずがない

はずがない means that something cannot be true based on common sense, facts, or the speaker’s judgment.

Use it to reject an idea or express strong confidence. The polite form is はずがありません.

昨日海外にいた彼が、今日の朝この会議に出たはずがありません。

He was overseas yesterday, so there is no way he attended this morning’s meeting.

Do not use it as a plain negative; はずがない requires a basis for the judgment.

はず means what should be expected; はずがない means the expectation cannot hold.
