Structure

noun/plain form + ばかりで

Explanation

ばかりで means things are only of one kind, often with dissatisfaction or a negative description.

Usage

It often leads to an evaluation such as no progress or lack of balance.

Example

文法の説明ばかりで、例文が少ない教材は使いにくい。

A textbook with only grammar explanations and few examples is hard to use.

Common Mistake

Do not confuse it with たばかり, meaning “just did.”
