A + より + B + ほうが

ほうが marks the side judged to be better, stronger, or more suitable in a comparison.

It often pairs with より: AよりBのほうが...

電車よりバスのほうが安いです。

The bus is cheaper than the train.

Do not put より and ほうが on the same side of the comparison.

ほう means 'side'; ほうが marks the side that stands out.
