plain form + ものか / もんか

Explanation

Strongly denies something through a rhetorical question. もんか is more casual and often sounds angry, defiant, or firmly rejecting.

Usage

It is uncommon in formal writing and sounds strong in speech, so use it carefully.

Example

こんな不公平な条件を受け入れるものか。

As if I would accept such unfair conditions.

Common Mistake

Although it ends with か, it is not a normal question; it is a strong denial.

Memory Tip

Think of ものか as 'No way that would happen.'
