ろくに + nai-form verb

Shows that something is not done to a proper degree, with dissatisfaction or negative evaluation.

Common with things that should be done sufficiently, such as eating, sleeping, studying, explaining, or checking.

忙しくて、昨日はろくに昼ご飯も食べられなかった。

I was so busy yesterday that I could hardly eat lunch properly.

Do not use it for positive evaluation; it basically carries a negative sense of insufficiency.

Something that should be done properly was not done enough.
