わざと + verb

Explanation

Shows doing something intentionally while knowing the result, often with a negative or strategic nuance.

Usage

Common for pranks, tests, or actions with hidden intent.

Example

彼はみんなを笑わせるために、わざと変な声で話した。

He deliberately spoke in a strange voice to make everyone laugh.

Common Mistake

Do not confuse it with わざわざ; わざと means intentionally, while わざわざ means going out of one's way.
