わざわざ

N3配慮

N3 · 配慮 · わざわざ + verb

Meaning

go out of one's way to; specially

Structure

わざわざ + verb

Explanation

Shows going out of one's way, spending time or effort for something; often carries gratitude, surprise, or 'you did not have to.'

Usage

Often used to thank someone for making an effort, or to say something was unnecessary.

Example

忙しいのに、わざわざ駅まで迎えに来てくれてありがとう。

Thank you for going out of your way to pick me up at the station even though you are busy.

Common Mistake

Do not confuse it with わざと; it emphasizes extra effort, not necessarily intentional manipulation.

Memory Tip

Take an extra step and make special effort.
