noun + を除いて

Shows that after excluding the first item, the following range or judgment applies.

Common for people, scope, conditions, and exceptions.

山田さんを除いて、全員が会議に出席しました。

Everyone except Yamada attended the meeting.

Do not treat it as identical to 以外; を除いて more explicitly marks exclusion.

Remove one exception from the set first.
