Explanation

The particle を marks the direct object of an action, and can also mark a route or place of departure.

Usage

As a particle, を is usually pronounced o.

Example

水を飲みます。

I drink water.

Common Mistake

Intransitive verbs usually do not take direct-object を; check whether the verb needs an object.
