Shows doing the second action after completing the first, or acting based on a certain premise, foundation, or aspect.

In sequence use, the first action is usually necessary preparation. In aspect use, phrases like 生活の上で are common.

資料をよく読んだ上で、参加するかどうかを決めてください。

Please decide whether to participate after carefully reading the materials.

Do not treat it as identical to てから; 上で emphasizes that the first action is preparation or a basis for judgment.

Stand on the foundation of the first action, then do the second.
