verb辞书形 + 予定ではなかった / noun + の予定ではなかった

Shows that the actual result differed from the original arrangement, or that something had not been planned at first.

Useful for explaining sudden changes, added tasks, or unexpected extensions.

会議はこんなに長くなる予定ではなかった。

The meeting was not supposed to last this long.

Do not confuse it with 予定だった. This form denies an original plan; 予定だった states that there was one.

ではなかった negates the idea that it was originally planned.
