Explanation

Shows experiencing a certain feeling or situation, usually strong or memorable.

Usage

Often attaches to nominalized feelings such as frustration, loneliness, fear, and hardship.

Example

準備不足のまま発表して、悔しい思いをした。

I gave the presentation underprepared and had a frustrating experience.

Common Mistake

Do not confuse it with simple 思う; here it means experiencing a feeling.

It is not thinking in the head, but tasting a feeling through experience.
