Meaning

do completely; carry through

Structure

masu-form verb去ます + 抜く

Explanation

Shows overcoming difficulty and carrying an action through to the end or doing it completely.

Usage

Common in expressions such as やり抜く, 走り抜く, and 考え抜く.

Example

彼女は最後まであきらめず、フルマラソンを走り抜いた。

She did not give up and ran the full marathon to the end.

Common Mistake

Do not attach it to the te-form; use the masu-stem, often with a nuance of effort.

Push through difficulty all the way to the end.
