to borrow humbly; to take up someone's time

Structure

noun + を拝借する

Explanation

拝借する humbly expresses borrowing something from someone, and お時間を拝借する means taking up someone's time.

Usage

Often used before a formal request and sounds more polite than 借りる.

Example

少しお時間を拝借してもよろしいでしょうか。

May I have a little of your time?

Common Mistake

Do not use 拝借する for someone else's borrowing; it humbly describes the speaker's side borrowing.
