Common with results, attitudes, weather, conditions, and choices.

準備の仕方次第で、発表の出来は大きく変わる。

The quality of the presentation changes greatly depending on how you prepare.

Do not confuse it with 次第 meaning 'as soon as'; 次第で means depending on.

The result is held in the hands of the first condition.
