Structure

次第に + 句子

Explanation

Shows that a change does not happen suddenly but progresses step by step.

Usage

Common with changes in temperature, emotions, quantities, and states.

Example

練習を続けるうちに、次第に発音が自然になってきた。

As I kept practicing, my pronunciation gradually became more natural.

Common Mistake

Do not confuse it with 次第で; 次第に marks gradual change.
