Shows that as soon as the first action is completed, the following action will happen immediately. It is formal.

Common in notices, business, and arrangements, such as 到着次第.

資料が届き次第、すぐに確認いたします。

As soon as the materials arrive, I will check them immediately.

The following clause is usually an action the speaker will do, and is less common for past narration.

The moment the first action finishes, the second follows.
